Built to keep a recycling yard running
Our family has been in the metal recycling business for decades. SLM Recycling, our sister company here in Carrollton, runs the kind of equipment that gets abused every single day: material handlers, scrap shears, balers, roll-off trucks, loaders. In a recycling yard, a down machine isn’t an inconvenience. It’s a line of trucks waiting at the scale.
So we did what any family business does. We fixed it ourselves. We built a shop, hired good mechanics, and learned every hydraulic circuit and every diesel engine on the property. Over the years, neighbors noticed. A farmer needed a tractor looked at. A contractor had an excavator that wouldn’t track straight. A hauler had a roll-off hoist that quit lifting.
In 2010 we opened the doors to the public as Heavy Equipment Repair, LLC. The model hasn’t changed: we’re the mechanics who keep a working yard running, and we bring that same urgency to your equipment.
